Long Dong (龍洞)

Above the surface

Long Dong is on the northeast coast (New Taipei / Gongliao). Easy shore entry from the bay; parking and rinse facilities nearby. The area has coastal walks, a few cafés, and seafood spots. Best to bring your own snacks and water; bring a change of clothes for after the dive.

Getting there: Drive or scooter from Taipei (about 1–1.5 hours). Public transport is limited; carpooling with the club is common.

Below the surface

Reef and rocky terrain with swim-throughs and overhangs. Common sightings: moray eels, nudibranchs, groupers, schooling fish, and in season macro life. Visibility is often 5–15 m; can be affected by runoff after rain. Depths from shallow (3–5 m) to 18 m+ along the wall. Suitable for all levels; some sites are current-sensitive.

Night dives: Popular for critters; we run scheduled night dives here.
